As a winner she will present the results of her pilot studies at the 2019 ObesityWeek meeting in Las Vegas, NV, within a session devoted to results from the Susan G. Komen® Breast Cancer Challenge.

In 2018, Dr. Bae-Jump (PI) and Dr. Makowski (co-I) were awarded an R01 to examine the systemic and local metabolic changes in patient ovarian tumors and a murine model of serous ovarian cancer and test the effects of a novel biguanide.
Dr. Vickie Bae-Jump (PI, UNC Chapel Hill) and Dr. Liza Makowski (co-I, UTHSC) were awarded a 3 year V Foundation Grant entitled Metabolic and Molecular Biomarkers of Metformin Response in Obesity-driven Endometrial Cancer in Fall 2017.
